Project PLAY! in the News

The following article appeared in the February 2009 issue of Performances Magazine:

La Louvre Art Gallerywas the scene of the annual fundraising event of the LA Philharmonic Committee (chaired by Affiliate member Putter Pence) that produced the generous pledge by Project Play! of new instruments for the LA Philharmonic AffiliateMusicMobile program.

Project Play! was founded by Los Angeles businessman AndrewKline to enrich the lives of today’s youth through art, music, and sports. Growing educational budget cuts have reduced the necessary supplies and resources to fuel this critical part of students’ education. Project Play! supplies schools and other organizationswith the resources necessary to promote the creative and physical growth of tomorrow’s leaders. All disbursements are made through inkind gifts, and donations to Project Play! go directly to the kids.

The Project Play! event to generate the funding for theMusicMobile instrumentswas held on a sunny Saturday afternoon at Ashland Park in SantaMonica, with friends and children enjoying spirited games and a delightful picnicwith theMusicMobile on display.
